Tips for learning
What you can expect from your course and what we expect from you
You can expect to
Be treated with respect and be encouraged to progress towards your learning outcome from your starting point.
Receive the best support we can offer to help you achieve your objectives by our tutors and support services.
Be encouraged towards further learning.
Adult Learning expects you to
Come to all sessions on time if you can, and let your tutor know if you can't.
Take your own safety and the safety of others seriously.
Join in and want to 'have a go'.
Help us fulfil our obligations to complete paperwork to satisfy our funders.
Agree how we work together
For any group to work well together, it's important to set 'Ground Rules'.
This means that everyone in a group needs to agree what's OK and what's not OK.
Issues we may agree on include starting on time, confidentiality, mutual respect for our differences and coming ready to learn.
Check out 'Choosing priorities for a group' in our Practise Classroom. Find a short quiz with questions about group priorities, on the Classwork page in the Middle topic.
Extra Support
If you need extra support, we will always try to help if we can
Please tell us what you need:
Contact our learning support specialist by sending an email to alsreferrals@northnorthants.gov.uk. Leave your phone number and request a call back.
Tell your tutor, who will be able to request suitable extra support.
